Celebration of New Year on January 1 st Holland Saigu On New Year's Day from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Holland Saigu welcomes everybody who is interested to join the old Japanese cultural tradition and visit the local Shinto Jinja in order to make a fresh start of the new year. If you would like to join Hatsumode, please click on the Kagami-mochi picture to find the time schedule and the application form to make a reservation for a time slot that is convenient for you. Please, check also its availability. Harai ceremonies are performed 3 times in total at 11:00, 12:00 and 1:00. Duration: 20 minutes. If you wish to have this purification ceremony, please make a reservation for the appropriate - and available - time slot that is convenient for you. At 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30, 3:00 and 3:30 we welcome all guests who want to visit the jinja on their own and experience a moment of tranquillity and reflection for 30 minutes. This is called Mairi. Reservations are required for Harai as well as for Mairi. During your visit Omamori, Ofuda, Ema and Omikuji are available. Click on the picture to see more details. Please note that we cannot accept mail-orders, but these items are available for (mail-)order again during Spring ceremony. The fee for Harai purification ceremony is 20 euro per family or 10 euro per person. Please put the money in the special ceremony envelope that is provided freely at our reception desk. In the same way, we would like to accept your donation when you visit Holland Saigu for Mairi. If you cannot visit in person, we offer also the option to attend Hatsumode online. The very first ceremony of the year at 10.00 will be streamed live on YouTube on January 1. During New Year's Day, you can attend this online ceremony whenever it suits you, as it stays online until 20.00. You do not need to make a reservation for the online ceremony.
